School sometimes doesn´t mean anything at all
School. A word that can make somebody cry, laugh, feel angry or desperate. However, everyone knows that feeling when they are in their class studying or pretending their "studying" very well. It´s a place where people learn how to read, how to write or how to count. It´s a place where people gain some information. It´s a place where people make friends. It´s a place where people meet their first loves. There´s many of things connected with it. It can give us much. But in today´s article I´ll try to explain why school sometimes doesn´t mean anything at all....
Few days ago I was talking with my friend about types of school. And we had quite different opinions. She attended grammar school, some other girl attended vocational school. The thing is that that "some other girl" doesn´t have much luck at university now. And my friend told me that those things happen because of the previous school. "That girl is just not lucky because she has never seen so many books in her life." That´s what she said. And to be honest, I wouldn´t feel little offended if she didn´t attend the same type of school as me. - vocational school. But in my case, I don´t have ANY problems with university so far. So does it really have something with schools we went through??
In my view, people can´t be judged just because of the school they attended in the past. Intelligence can´t be shown from the marks they obtained in tests. I´m not about to say that people who study medicine are on the same level as people who study economy or any other easier stuff but things don´t depend only on schools. Who says that the future doctors can´t understand the accountancy, for example? Who says that some businessman can´t be interested in biology, too? The difference are only in papers, certificates...
A person can´t attend all types of school but he can surely know many things from each branch. And of course, many of those things needn´t to be taught in schools. Like... if somebody wants to, great things are likely to happen. There´s many ways how people can get to the information they want or need. Books, Internet, documentaries, quiz shows... It´s all about the things people do in their free time, because, unfortunately, many school don´t develop the skills of their students, they just keep them down...
Another example I would like to mention is that two men were in one quiz show. One young man, at the age of 19 or so, a student who is about to finish high school and one older man, around the age of 30, a doctor. Topics were from all branches. Both of them had incredible knowledge and they tried really hard. But in the last question, the better one won. The winner was that young student from high school. And what does it mean? Though skillful doctor, who passed university and lost the battle against one student from "only" high school didn´t make him stupid. It only showed that not everyone needs "some" school to show what they have inside their brains. It´s really an individual thing. And nobody can be supercilious just because of school they attend(ed)...
I´m used to saying that a person can know whatever they want to. A biologist can do maths or play piano and the musicians can be great mechanics... The school just lead people into their work positions. If somebody studied for becoming waiter, he definitely can´t be scientist unless he has no papers to prove it. But it does not make him dumb or so. If he comes home and reads books about anatomy (no matter how funny it sounds) he definitely can learn a lot. People just won´t see it, nothing more... But he still has some chances to prove it. One day... Maybe...
And yeah, what one man knows, other one may not know. And contrariwise. So stop making people less smart than they may be. Don´t judge them because of school they went to. Because it really doesn´t mean a lot at all...
If somebody has no luck with school, there are other reasons for that. 1. A person is super lazy and he believes that school will be done, one way or another, anyway 2. A person has no time for studying, etc. 3. A person chose school that is just not for him. Sadly.
!!!From time to time, the true education starts somewhere else than where the school stands!!!
