Why is my dog snoring?

Have you noticed that the dog snored when he was sleeping? Were you also worried about the health problems of your dog? Your worry is right. Snoring is related to the dog's respiratory system. When there is any inflammation in the airway, the dog will snore. Are there other reasons that can cause dogs to snore? The following article sorts out several common reasons for you.

1. Sleeping position

Some dogs' snoring is only caused by sleeping position. Try to wake up your dog and ask him to sleep in a different position.

2. Overweight

Obese dogs are also prone to snoring. Fat accumulation in the chest and abdomen of an overly obese dog can put pressure on the airway, causing the dog to breathe noisy and chaotic.

3. Allergies

Like humans, dogs are very sensitive to certain substances in the air, such as dust, pollen, and smoke. These particles can irritate dogs’ respiratory tract and cause inflammation of the respiratory tract. In order to deal with such particles, the dog's body will produce mucus to wrap the particles. However, this mucus will cause dogs to snore.

4. Foreign body

Dog snoring is also related to the obstruction of the airway by foreign body, including grass seeds, polyps in the nose and so on. You need to take your dog to the vet to find out the specific cause.
