How to tell if your dog is pregnant?

Have you noticed that your dog is less active than usual? The food he eats has also become much less. It is very likely that your dog is pregnant. Compared with humans, the duration of a female dog's pregnancy is only about 63 days, while the duration of human pregnancy is as high as 9 months. Although the time for a dog to be pregnant is not very long, the dog also needs special care during pregnancy. Knowing the signs of your dog's pregnancy in advance can ensure that your dog will safely give birth to a litter of cute puppies.

1. Change in behavior

A newly pregnant dog will seek your comfort more often, so that she looks clingy. When the dog is about to give birth, the dog will look for a comfortable and hidden place to give birth to puppies and raise them.

2. Changes in appetite

Your dog may lose her appetite during the early or middle stages of pregnancy and may even experience vomiting. But in the late stages of pregnancy, because the dog needs more nutrition, the dog will also eat more.

3. Weight gain

This is the most obvious feature of a dog's pregnancy. If your dog has gained weight for no other reason, and the abdomen is slowly getting bigger, then you should pay attention to whether the dog is pregnant.

4. Physical changes

Early pregnancy can cause your dog’s nipples to become larger. You may also notice that the dog’s nipples have turned slightly darker red, which indicates an increase in blood flow.
