Why being rich, famous or an "ordinary" artist is difficult
Everyone thinks that actors, singers, music bands and other artists have the best and easiest lives. But sometimes you just need to look from an another point of view. Nothing´s as great as it seems and sometimes it gives hard times, too. Here we go.
The first one is a loss of privacy. When your work makes a sense, you might lose all those secrets from your life. Of course, there are some exceptions who are able to keep their personal life away from the public but in many cases it´s not possible. Fans and paparazzi do really creepy stuff from time to time and that´s why some things will be revealed, anyway. Celebrities realize that fame is connected with this but I assume it´s not pleasant when someone hears about embarrassing moments that you did yesterday or even years ago...
When you become famous and rich, all your troubles will disappear. Or at least you´ll feel so. Your head will be in the clouds because of those plans you have, like what you´re gonna do with such an amount of money now. You´ll be thinking of what house you should buy, what type of car would fit your personality the best (wtf?) and clearly with what friends and what partner could you share this all? And this might be the hardest decision ever. Since your life changes into better, you´ll probably have no chance to differ your true and fake friends. You won´t be sure if someone likes being by your side because of great friendship you give or just because of fame and everything you have. What if the person is just trying to be visible? And the same thing happens with love relationships. Is your girlfriend/ boyfriend completely honest in love? Doesn´t she/ he care just about the fortune around you? In my opinion the best friendships that famous people can have are the ones that came into existence before all this madness. Those ones are definitely true because those friends like them for them...
And this may lead into depression as well. Indeed that famous people have tons of fans who adore the work they do. They even know people they wouldn´t have known if they hadn´t become celebrities but what´s the point? No matter how many human beings are surrounding them, there´s a possibility of feeling lonely, anyway. Will someone come, when they need a help or support? Is there in such a huge crowd one good friend? No one knows...
However, being depressed isn´t just a matter of possible lack of true friends. Artists often suffer from gloom, too. It says that artistic world is completely different from the other ones. They care for details, they read between the lines, they see thousand ways of expressing what they feel, they take things more seriously than they should... and they are deep thinkers. Moreover when they do art for living, the people who see their masterpieces are the greatest judges ever. They expect only the very best every single day and sometimes they forget that artists aren´t robots at all. When an artist shows one amazing work to community, next time they´ll probably expect something much better, won´t they? So keeping in the limelight of fame is tough, I guess. Between whiles I see fans who keep asking their heros when the next song/album/video/movie/book or whatever comes out. But as I said, certain artists want to make it as perfect as it goes, therefore sometimes it´s worth to wait. And when they try so hard to make it good, unfortunately the block might come thus the progress is slowed, as well... In case of making videos and stuff like that, actors have to repeat the same old scence again and again until it´s flawless.
The last thing I´d like to mention is that people take the celebrities the same way as they are presented in movies/serials/videos. Not everytime but it happens quite often. Like when you see a negative character in movie, you´ll hardly believe that the person is a good man in reality. Or when you see a comic who makes fun of himself all the time. When you meet him in the street you´ll probably want him to say something really funny. You´ll take him as the funniest person ever without any troubles or tears, though his real world is far away from fun. I don´t know why but it tends to be that people with the brightest smiles are the saddest or the shyest ones. So don´t be surprised when things are little other than they seem.
In addition, all of the things I said don´t fit to everyone. It´s individual and it depends on situation and human´s personality. It´s also about their values, decisions, places of residence etc.
