Vysledky skumania KOMISIE
Sources in touch with the Vatican and the commission have told us the commission have reviewed positives and negatives and a ‘severe but positive’ pronouncement has been recommended to Pope Francis. Positive meaning the Vatican recognises the good coming from Medjugorje and will allow pilgrimages to continue, but severe because they wish to calm down any hype connected with the phenomena and keep the focus on prayer and not the visionaries or apparitions. We reiterate here that Pope Francis may not wish to even go ahead with this recommendation and decide something of his own accord.
However if His Holiness does go ahead then possibly both sides of the argument are not going to be fully satisfied and both sides will be in some way slightly confronted, as the commission on the one hand have found no evidence of the visionaries faking the apparitions, recognise countless conversions and have informed Pope Francis they are ‘open to the possibility the Blessed Virgin is appearing’ in a manner that they recognise as unprecedented in Church History, but equally they are pointing out various ‘uncertainties’ such as the visionaries running hotels and the period of apparitions still ongoing makes them de facto inconclusive. These uncertainties have lead them to suggest protective restrictions to be made for the visionaries and the public, and better spiritual guidance for the visionaries. Thus shedding light on Cardinal Pulic’s (member of the Ruini Commission) comment who said a ‘fair conclusion’ has been made.
The Vatican does not permit a place of prayer to be declared a shrine until 30 years of activity, and Pope Benedict XVI fittingly formed the commission after 29 years of ongoing activity at Medjugorje to see whether a) the Parish could be elevated to a status of a Shrine and b) a clarification could be given on the Medjugorje Phenomeno
The commission have identified two eras for Medjugorje, the initial era of the first 6 years of the apparition that has proven very positive for Medjugorje, with scientists and doctors providing evidence declaring to the commission there is ‘high probability the visionaries are having a supernatural experience’. However the past 20 years that have allegedly raised more variables and difficulties to establish a positive conclusion.
Another source informs us that Fr Federico Lombardi, papal spokesman, says Medjugorje was best under the ‘Slavko Era’, when the visionaries were under the vigilant guidance of the late Fr Slavko, who died November 24, 2000, and the period after has indicated the visionaries are in need of better guidance and the Vatican will take measures to implement assistance.
We also learn that the Ruini Commission are not opposed to Medjugorje and will not declare it constat de non supernaturalitate, but it most likely will maintain the status non constat de supernaturalitate.
There has even been talk of considering the possibility of declaring the first years as constat de supernaturalitate, and causing the remaining phenomena to remain private and any information coming from the apparition only to be transmitted to the Vatican. However Church guidelines that the commission are following, advises that the Church must ‘never feel compelled to hurry a decision’ regarding private revelations.
Sr Lucia of Fatima was given a secret that was to be released in 1960, and continued to have apparitions in her cloister till her death. However her apparitions were to remain private, and the Vatican restricted the secret from being released until the year to 2000, despite the Vatican approving her initial apparitions.
Ultimately our sources have not confirmed to us for certain what status Medjugorje is recommended to be declared.
However no one – even the commission themselves – are able to say for sure what will happen because that will rely upon two things: the feria quarta meeting with cardinals and bishops who will discuss what actions to take and ultimately the final decision of Pope Francis. Cardinal Ruini himself wonders at the final result and said “now my part in this mission here is completed – over Pope Francis to see what he does!” Therefore if Cardinal Ruini, head of the Medjugorje Commission, is waiting to see what Pope Francis will do there is no point relying on any media ‘leak’ to presume to know what is the final conclusion.
Cardinal Schonborn who is very close to the apparitions and intends to host the visionary Marija Pavlovic in his Cathedral this September 29th, will be attending the feria quarta.
We therefore encourage further prayer for the decision that Pope Francis will make. Pope Francis can either approve the recommendation from Cardinal Muller, instruct adjustments, call for more time and discussion, or issue a Motu Proprio.
We conclude by showing you the process the conclusion must take.
- Vatican Commission forms Medjugorje Dossier and presents to Cardinal Muller.
- Cardinal Muller reviews the dossier and writes a recommendation of action for Pope Francis.
- Feria Quarta is held with other cardinals and bishops to review this recommendation.
- Pope Francis issues final decision: Instructing the CDF to pronounce it to the Church/ issuing himself a Motu Proprio/or requests more time to review.
